Subnautica 2 Release Date

This might be a stretch but when I looked at Subnautica 1 early access release date (December 16 2014) and then add the rescue time (99,999 hours) it ends up being on May 13, 2026 and it’s been speculated that Subnautica 2 early access will come out in May.

🤷‍♂️

Community Discussion and Theories

Users discussed various possibilities regarding the announcement and release timing:

• Some users believed an announcement was imminent, citing YouTube teasers.
• Skepticism was raised regarding a May release, with some suggesting it was misinformation spread to undermine Unknown Worlds.
• Others noted that many games tend to release on Thursdays, pointing to May 14th as a more likely date than May 13th.

Steam Store Listings and Conflicting Info

Several commenters reported seeing a May 2026 release date on Steam for a short period before it was removed. This led to speculation that it might have been a placeholder or a subtle hint from Valve.

One user noted: "Damn yeah Steam is showing a release date of May 14th!" while others cautioned that developers had previously stressed that May release dates were false information.

Final Consensus in Thread

As the discussion progressed, several users claimed the date was confirmed for May 14, 2026, noting that the initial theory was only off by one day. However, counter-arguments remained that the devs had explicitly denied this window, suggesting a June-July timeframe might be more realistic.
