Alien Vents

View History

The Alien Vents are a massive Precursor pipe network on Planet 4546B that pumps oxygen-rich water to the Sea Emperor Leviathan's Aquarium. Peepers use these vents to distribute Enzyme 42 and flora seeds, sustaining life on the planet.

Alien Vents

Alien Pipe System

The Alien Vents are a huge network of pipes created by the Precursor Race that stretches into the crust of Planet 4546B. The pipes have multiple access points throughout the world, all converging at the Primary Containment Facility. Their primary purpose is to pump oxygen-rich water from various biomes into the Sea Emperor Leviathan's Aquarium, creating an ideal environment for it.

At an unspecified time, the captive Sea Emperor Leviathan trained Peepers to use this pipe system. Through the vents, Peepers deposit flora seeds into the Aquarium and collect small amounts of Enzyme 42. They then return to the surface to distribute the enzyme. This process is the sole reason some life has managed to survive on the planet since the bacterial outbreak.

Entrances for the Alien Vents are located in the Dunes, Grand Reef, Underwater Islands, Mushroom Forest, Mountains, and the Deep Sparse Reef.

Entrance Points

Alien Pipe Entrance Points are vents located in six biomes around the world. These vents allow Peepers to distribute Enzyme 42 to other creatures. Each vent has two access points, both of which only allow one-way travel for Peepers entering or exiting the Alien Vents. Peepers can occasionally be seen swimming in and out of these points.

Data Bank Entries

These vents connect to an ancient piping network that extends beyond maximum scannable depth. The pumping system is still functional.

  • The inflow vent is drawing water from the surrounding area, and pumping it to an unknown location below the surface.
  • Warm, de-oxygenated water is being expelled into the atmosphere.
  • Most creatures are avoiding the vents.
  • Peepers can be observed entering and exiting the pipe network without signs of distress.

Assessment: Further research required.

Water Flow Analysis

Water flowing to and from the primary containment facility is being automatically controlled, independently of other safeguards. Data on the water composition has been recorded:

Inflow: Water is being drawn from different biomes around the surface of the planet. The water temperature is considerably lower than the volcanic environment outside the facility, while micro-organism and nutrient counts are substantially higher.

Outflow: Oxygen-deprived water is being flooded from the system and recycled back to the surface.

Peepers Entering the Containment Facility

Peepers entering pipes The pipes drawing water into the containment facility are filled with peepers arriving from the surface.

  • The fish show no signs of distress.
  • The specimens scanned have all consumed high quantities of seeds and organic matter from the surface.
  • Some specimens are beginning to show signs of infection.

Enzyme Host Peepers Leaving the Containment Facility

The outflow pipes are filled with peepers traveling back towards the surface.

  • Specimens show no symptoms of infection.
  • All specimens scanned are carrying Enzyme 42, which data suggests inhibits the bacterium.
  • Specimens' stomach cavities are otherwise empty, suggesting they may have purged the contents before entering the pipes.

Assessment: If peepers have evolved to distribute the enzyme via the pipe network, this may explain part of the mechanism by which life on 4546B has survived since the bacterial outbreak.

An access point to the alien piping system transports water to and from the containment facility. Peepers are using the pipe network to travel to and from the surface.
