Description
Blue Palms are a purely decorative flora species found mostly in shallower biomes. Using a knife or a thermoblade, the player can harvest Blue Palm Seeds from them.
One seed takes 2x2 slots in the inventory and can be planted in an Alien Containment or an Exterior Growbed. It takes 600 seconds (10 minutes) for a seed to grow into a mature Blue Palm.
Blue Palms have 80 HP and can therefore be slashed 4 times before being destroyed. Each slash grants 1 seed; the fourth and final reap grants an additional seed, for a total of 5 seeds.
As mentioned above, the Blue Palm is purely cosmetic and has no use or purpose in crafting. However, the seeds can be put into a Bioreactor for 70 units of Energy per seed.
Appearance
Blue Palms have a segmented, bluish-gray stem, which is covered in light blue spots, and that is thicker at the base and thins near the leaves.
Eight large palm leaves consisting of bright green stalks and many small, fleshy, dark blue leaves with rounded tips protrude from it. The leaves on the end of the stalks are green. The center is a lime greenish color.

The blue palm is a common aquatic plant that thrives in shallower waters with high exposure to sunlight. Long fronds intercept light before it can reach the smaller flora on the seabed.

Trivia
- Despite the PDA stating that it grows in areas with lots of sunlight, it is possible to find Blue Palm specimens in certain caves in the Safe Shallows and the Mountain Caves.
- Blue Palms in the Mushroom Forest only grow in the Northwestern Mushroom Forest; none can be found in the Northeastern Mushroom Forest.
