Cave Bushes are a flora species found populating several biomes, such as the Jellyshroom Caves, Mountains Caves, and the Sea Treader's Path. By using a knife or a thermoblade, the player can harvest Cave Bush Seeds.

One seed takes 2x2 inventory slots and can be planted in an Exterior Growbed or an Alien Containment. It takes 1200 seconds (20 minutes) for a seed to grow into a mature Cave Bush.

Cave Bushes have 150 HP, therefore 9 seeds can be harvested from a single bush. Each slash will grant 1 seed, while the eighth slash will destroy the bush, giving one additional seed. The size of the bush doesn't matter; all Cave Bushes have the same amount of HP.

This flora species is purely for decoration and has no purpose in crafting, although its seeds can be used as fuel for the bioreactor for 70 units of energy per seed.

Appearance

Cave Bushes are a moderate-sized plant, featuring a tall, dark purple stalk with many small branches and leaves growing from it. The leaves are of a lighter shade than the stem and are capable of emitting a bright purple bioluminescent glow.

Cave Bushes found within the Jellyshroom Caves are massive when compared to those found elsewhere, suggesting that the conditions of the cave have caused a distinct subspecies to evolve. The same phenomenon is seen with the Violet Beau in the cave, though to a lesser degree.
