Further up, it transitions to light brown, then to a dull purple. Bioluminescent cyan spots speckle the purple section. The branching protrusions at the top of the plant share this cyan coloration.+ ++ +### Data Bank Entry+ +A blue-tipped kelp species which tends to grow in or near to acidic brine pools on the ocean floor.
