Deep Lilypads Cave Cache

The Deep Lilypads Cave Cache is an Architect Base located in the Deep Lilypads Cave. The cache was designed as a "sanctuary of life" for the Architects, who sought to reflect on matters as their battle against the Kharaa Bacterium worsened. Here, the skeleton of a fallen Architect can be found and scanned for the construction of a new Architect vessel.

The cache can only be accessed if the player approaches it with Al-An inside their head. A forcefield will block the player's path if Al-An is not present.

Description

The cache is situated within a secluded, likely artificial environment, as indicated by the large quantities of foreign, overgrown moss. The cache features a ramp that splits off to the left and right. A platform rests at the heart of the cache, with each corner possessing a large planter tray. Each tray contains a singular Ancient Ornamental Plant, as well as clusters of Bulb Stalk Plants.

A fountain is located at the center of the platform, with a statue of an Architect sitting partially submerged within an octagonal basin. Directly above is a pipe-like structure that forms an artificial waterfall around the statue. To the left and right of the cache, several pedestals can be found growing three of the flora species native to The Crater, which includes the Speckled Rattler, Voxel Shrub, and Grub Basket.

Trivia

Initially, the Arms component would have been found here. After the components were reworked, the tissue sample could be found here until it was replaced with the skeleton and moved to the [[Arctic Spires](/wiki/arctic-spires) Cache](/wiki/arctic-spires-cache) instead.

The Deep Lilypads Cave Cache was originally located at the bottom of the Methane Ice Caves until the biome was cut from the game.
