Added article for Axum Vision adaptation, including obtaining method, databank entry, and gallery.
**Axum Vision** is the fourth Adaptation unlocked in Subnautica 2. It allows the player to see previously-hidden glyphs written in Axum Radial A, as well as view the Axum Polarized Screens in the Upper and Lower Generator Control Rooms of the Karakorum Power Plant. ## Method of Obtaining -A **Feedback Resonator** is required to destroy **Bloom Cankers** located on all three **Bloom Nodes**. Bloom cankers can be found on Titan Rockbore tendrils coming out of the Bloom Node itself. When all of them are destroyed with the Feedback Resonator, the water color will start changing from the gray color found in areas infected by the Viral Bloom to a normal water color. The bloom nodes can be found in the following locations: * **Western Bloom Node** — Located 600 meters West of the Angel Comb at depth 190m. Found in the Observatory Island Caves. * **Southern Bloom Node** — Located 360 meters Southwest of the Angel Comb at depth 300m. Found between the Needler Nests and Karakorum Power Plant. * **Eastern Bloom Node** — Located 460 meters East of the Angel Comb at depth 300m. Found on a mesa bordering the Karakorum Power Plant and Karakorum Metal Farms, directly below the Alterra ruins. It is inside the Cicada Wreck; use the Sonic Resonator inside, then swim down the elevator which opens into a cave. There will be two bloom canker nodes to break within this area. After successfully cleansing the first three bloom nodes, the bloom cankers located on the Rockbore tendrils at the **Angel Comb** under the Karakorum Power Plant will open up, allowing them to be destroyed. Once the bloom cankers are destroyed, the adult Angel Comb will open up, allowing the player to interact with the Gene Donor. This will grant the player the Axum Vision Adaptation. ## Databank Entry > **Axum Vision** > > You can now perceive and interact with Axum technology, and detect hidden Axum messages in your environment. > > This adaptation adds specialized pigments to the eye's photoreceptors, especially in the central macular area. The angel comb which provided this adaptation may have gained it from Axum workers in the Karakorum region. > > - Ordinary light vibrates in all directions, like sound in air > - Axum displays emit polarized light, which vibrates in a single direction, like waves on the sea > - Light polarizes as it passes through seawater, capturing information about depth, water conditions, and the position of bodies in the sky > - Sea life evolves to capture this information, and then to use polarized light for communication and deception > > While simple filters and even the naked human eye can detect light polarization, correct use of Axum technology requires your eye to detect polarization in the same precise way the Axum did. > > It is philosophically unclear whether replicating the biomechanics of Axum vision in a human would also replicate the same percepts (first person experience of sense) in a human brain. Does this adaptation look like known entoptic phenomena like Haidinger's brush, or is it entirely new? Would you compare it to: > > - A blind person gaining sight for the first time? > - A myopic person putting on glasses? > - A normally visioned person seeing a vivid new shade? > - Something else? > > *Source: Unknown* ## Gallery *The Angel Comb in its Closed State* *The Angel Comb in its Open State* *The Bloom Cankers Variant as seen in the Karakorum Region*
