It is mostly decoration for the game, being used in only one crafting recipe. It can be harvested for Eye Stalk Seeds by using the knife, which can then be planted in an Exterior Growbed.+ +It takes 1200 seconds (20 minutes) to grow a full plant from a seed when planted. Each plant has 150 HP and can therefore be harvested 8 times before being destroyed, giving a total of 9 seeds. This is because the eighth knife hit will give two seeds instead of one. The size of the Eye Stalk doesn't matter: smaller plants have the same amount of HP as the biggest ones.+ +Similar to most flora, the seed takes 2x2 slots of space in the inventory and is worth 70 units of energy when put into a bioreactor.+ +## Appearance+ +The Eye Stalk consists of twisted purple stems that are crooked and have nearly no round corners, with a few darker purple stripes. Numerous yellow bioluminescent bulbs resembling eyes protrude from smaller stems. The bulbs produce a large amount of light, and are the primary source of light in the Deep Sparse Reef. The light could also be used as lighting outside a seabase when one lacks the blueprint for a floodlight or other lighting apparatus.+ +![An Eye Stalk](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/EyeStalkDay.jpg/200px-EyeStalkDay.jpg?c231d)+*An Eye Stalk*+ +![An Eye Stalk glowing at night](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Eye_Stalk_Crag_Field.png/200px-Eye_Stalk_Crag_Field.png?d9fec)+*An Eye Stalk glowing at night*+ +## Uses In Crafting+ +> **Spoiler alert:** The following section contains story related material.+ +### Hatching Enzymes+ +- ![Eye Stalk Seed](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Eye_Stalk_Seed.png/54px-Eye_Stalk_Seed.png?37411) Eye Stalk Seed+- ![Fungal Sample](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Fungal_Sample.png/54px-Fungal_Sample.png?ea700) Fungal Sample+- ![Ghost Weed Seed](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Ghost_Weed_Seed.png/54px-Ghost_Weed_Seed.png?0b7cb) Ghost Weed Seed+- ![Sea Crown Seed](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Sea_Crown_Seed.png/54px-Sea_Crown_Seed.png?9e26f) Sea Crown Seed+- ![Bulb Bush Sample](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Bulb_Bush_Sample.png/54px-Bulb_Bush_Sample.png?3fdca) Bulb Bush Sample+- →+- ![Fabricator](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Fabricator.png/54px-Fabricator.png?61cad) Fabricator+- →+- ![Hatching Enzymes](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/Hatching_Enzymes.png/54px-Hatching_Enzymes.png?a2d20) Hatching Enzymes+ +## Data Bank Entry+ +![Data Bank Entry](https://wiki.subnautica.com/sn/images/thumb/EyestalkEntry.png/660px-EyestalkEntry.png?4be10)+ +A cave-dwelling tuber dotted with luminescent, photosensitive 'eyes'.
