The Eyeball Sponge is a rare type of Protean Sponge found very sparsely on rock outcroppings near the Axum Observatory.
As of Early Access 1.2 - Buddy System, the Eyeball Sponge was made no longer scannable. This change was not documented in the official patch notes.
Appearance
The Eyeball Sponge appears in small clusters of two to three grey, rough, vase-like individuals. Most have a hollow opening, but some have that opening covered by a surface covered in small, irregularly spaced, round holes.
