The Glow Fungus is a biophosphorescent flora species found abundantly in the pitch-black Dark Caves of the Glacial Basin. Light sources, such as the Flashlight or Headlamp, will cause Glow Fungi to light up, casting light in a small area around it. This light dims slowly over a minute after the light source is pointed away.
Databank Entry
The Glow Fungus is commonly found in dark caves, and is marked by its exhibition of biofluorescence - a unique ability to absorb and emit electromagnetic radiation.
This is not to be confused with the process of bioluminescence, which many underwater lifeforms exhibit on Planet 4546B. Bioluminescence is a chemical reaction caused by the molecule luciferin when exposed to oxygen.

Trivia
Although the Glow Fungus databank entry states the species to be biofluorescent, it is more accurate to describe it as biophosphorescent because the light absorbed by the plant is emitted over a longer period of time, rather than ceasing immediately when the light source is cut off.
