It provides +20 Food and -5 Water when consumed. The **Digestion** adaptation is required to safely consume alien lifeforms. A player without this adaptation will not receive its effect and be deducted health. ## Appearance The Harvestmoon has a body shaped like a crescent moon. The back of the body has a pair of crescent shaped fins and two long tails each with a very small fin towards the end. The body is mostly dark purple, contrasting with its bright green fins. The eye is black with a pale blue iris and a round pupil. A cornified beak that is flush with the body is situated in front. ## Behavior The Harvestmoon is seemingly identical in behavior to the Halfmoon; it swims around passively and can sometimes be seen hiding around patches of Sea Whips, forming schools with Halfmoons and Bluemoons. Occasionally, Harvestmoons can be seen gathering in groups around Waxmoons. Harvestmoons will flee from the Player and any Predators. While doing so, they will swim horizontally or swim swiftly left to right in an attempt to avoid the threat. ## Recipes The Harvestmoon is used in the following recipes: * Cooked Harvestmoon * Threemoon Temaki ## Databank Entry > **Source:** Scan a Harvestmoon Subspecies of the halfmoon, *Moliform semiluna*, with no apparent behavioral or biological distinction. Unpacking archived data... "The current scientific consensus is that altruism—helping someone at cost to your own survival—cannot evolve. Animals help other animals if they're helping themselves. Nothing is free. "Of course, you'd help an animal, right? If you saw a kidney poacher stuck in an acid bog, you'd drag it out. And it'd soak you in 'do not eat' pheremones and take you home to meet its poachlets. "But the transcapital bio-ghouls insist that the kidney poacher is going call you a sucker and eat your kidneys. Why? Because you don't have a Green Beard. "An animal can evolve to help other animals...but only if those animals display binding proof that they'll help back. A Green Beard. Kind of a reverse Mark of Cain. "Help your fellow Green Beards, and you'll always come out ahead. Ignore everyone without a Green Beard, and you'll never be tricked and stabbed in the kidneys. Die for the Green Beard, if you must—just as long as the other Green Beards are equally willing to die for you and your children. "For this to work, the Green Beard has to be impossible to fake. They think of that right away. They point to historical practices like skull-shaping and scarification. "But the Green Beard also has to be impossible to share. It has to be guarded jealously. The alternative, to the minds that rule us, is quite unthinkable..." —Nahema Nakota, "My Project (draft 13.4.new.new.real)" ## Gallery ### In Game -![Harvestmoon seen from the side](Harvestmoon side.png)-*Harvestmoon seen from the side.*- -![Front view of the Harvestmoon](Harvestmoon front.png)-*Front view of the Harvestmoon.*- -![Top view of the Harvestmoon](Harvestmoon top.png)-*Top view of the Harvestmoon.*- -![Harvestmoon viewed from the back](Harvestmoon back.png)-*Harvestmoon viewed from the back.*+![Harvestmoon seen from the side.](Harvestmoon side.png)+![Front view of the Harvestmoon.](Harvestmoon front.png)+![Top view of the Harvestmoon.](Harvestmoon top.png)+![Harvestmoon viewed from the back.](Harvestmoon back.png)
