Construction & Placement

The Multipurpose Room is constructed using the Habitat Builder. It can be placed on top of a Foundation or attached directly to another Seabase module.

  • Horizontal Connection: When connected horizontally to another module, a small corridor segment is automatically generated.
  • Vertical Stacking: Multipurpose Rooms can be stacked vertically. Players must build ladders inside to access multiple floors.
  • Expansion: Side panels allow expansion with other modules. However, side panels at 45-degree angles to the construction direction cannot be expanded from.
  • Glass Dome: A Multipurpose Room Glass Dome can be placed on top, but this prevents further vertical stacking.

Hull Integrity Mechanics

Every Multipurpose Room added reduces total Hull Integrity by -1.25 (the game interface may display -1.3 due to rounding).

  • The first piece of a seabase starts with +10 Integrity.
  • If built as the first piece at surface depth, the net integrity is approximately 1.8 (+10 - 1.25).

Panel Limitations

  • Ladders: Can be placed on all five floor and ceiling boxes if an adjacent Seabase module exists for connection.
  • Windows & Reinforcements: Can be placed on all eight side panels.
    • Note: North, South, East, and West sides provide double the Hull Integrity bonus from reinforcements compared to the 45-degree sides. This may be a bug.
  • Alien Containment Expansion Hatches: Can be placed on all eight side panels.
  • Connection Restrictions: Cannot be connected to the Large Room using a Ladder.

Crafting

The blueprint is unlocked by scanning Multipurpose Rooms found at Outpost Zero or Delta Station. It is crafted exclusively with the Habitat Builder.
