It can be placed inside of player-created Seabases with the Habitat Builder and can be upgraded using Recipe Data Cards to have a greater variety of scan filters. ## Recipe -The blueprint for the Scanner Station can be found by scanning a Scanner Station fragment, which can be found at Camp One and the Old Habitat.+The blueprint for the Scanner Station can be found by scanning a Scanner Station fragment, which can be found at Camp One and the Old Habitat. A list of scannable Scanner Stations can be found in the Fragments and Filter Upgrade Locations section below. -| Ingredient | Quantity |-| --- | --- |+| Ingredient | Amount |+|---|---| | System Chip | 1 | | Titanium | 3 | | Wiring Kit | 1 | ## Purpose The Scanner Station has a spherical scanning radius of 300 meters and draws 10 energy per second while active. When active, it displays a vague holographic map showing no terrain but displaying the locations of nearby signals corresponding with the selected filter. The filter can be changed by interacting with the Scanner Station's console. Only one filter can be active at a time, and filters will only be available in the menu if a corresponding signal exists in range. If no nearby signals exist for a filter, it will be absent from the console entirely. Each signal displayed on the map is identified by a small sphere at that signal's location and corresponds to one instance of the selected filter (one resource or one wreck, for example). Each signal can be selected to create a Signal that will be visible on the player's HUD guiding them to its location. If the signal corresponds to a resource, the signal will disappear from both in the Scanner Station and in the Signals menu when it is harvested. The Scanner Station can be upgraded with Recipe Data Cards found in some Pioneer settlements and wrecks to expand the filters available to scan with. Multiple scanning stations can be active at the same time, allowing one tracking signal per station, as long as they each have enough power. ## Scannable Objects * Titanium * Copper * Quartz * Silver * Gold * Salt * Sulfur * Lead * Celestine * Atacamite * Conduit Crystal * Alterra Bases * Biohacking Chambers (after an upgrade) * Various anomalies (after an upgrade) * Cicada Debris (after an upgrade) * Bloom Infestation (after an Upgrade) ## Scanner Filter Upgrades * **Anomaly Filter** (also unlocks the Biohacking Chamber Filter) * Found in the Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage). * **Biohacking Chamber Filter** * Found in the Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage). * **Cicada Debris Filter** * Found in the Old Habitat. * **Bloom Infestation Filter** * Found from an interactible screen in the Old Habitat. ## Fragments and Filter Upgrade Locations ### Fragments | Coords & Depth | Description | Image |-| --- | --- | --- |+|---|---|---| | -337925, 395689 @ 45m | Inside the Old Habitat | | | -328253, 411393 @ 22m | In Camp One in the detached room | | ### Filter Upgrades | Coords & Depth | Description | Image |-| --- | --- | --- |+|---|---|---| | Anomaly Filter Upgrade
-308014, 411679 @ 50m | Inside the Lander Garage wreck | | | Bloom Infestation Filter Upgrade
-337136, 393403 @ 55m | Inside the Old Habitat contained within an interactible screen | | | Cicada Debris Filter Upgrade
-338150, 396191 @ 45m | Inside the Old Habitat | | ## Databank Entry **OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS** Construct in habitat room compartment. Ensure sufficient electrical budget is available-high power draw. Once powered, select a filter and wait for the map to populate with contacts. Touch a contact (entering the holographic map if necessary) to place a signal on its position in the real world. CAUTION: the scanner's power draw increases sharply while active. **BACKGROUND** Ever wondered what's out there? Now you can replace wonder and mystery with crisp, high-resolution sensor imagery. The scanner station manages sensors including (but not limited to) hyperspectral imaging, field MRI, passive sonar, biosonic spectroscopy, lidar vibrometry, chemical sniffers and magnetometric inferentials. The scanner station is a standalone product; colonists are not required to manually construct sensors on their habitat. Building these emitters personally may give colonists a sense of purpose and achievement. > "The Alterra scanner station. Because the map always beats the territory." ## Gallery ### In Game ### Development ### Other
