Tools

 ![The Scanner is a Tool.](wiki-images/ee/ee4eca85468c065cc8a6855abaabce05.png)   **Tools** are craftable items found in the tools section of the [Fabricator](Fabricator) or upgraded from other tools in the [Modification Station](Modification Station). They must be equipped to the hotbar to be used, as opposed to [Equipment](Equipment) which is equipped through the PDA UI. They are used by selecting them in the hotbar.
