A Progress Raion is a lifeform that grows around the Axum Observatory. Very few instances of the lifeform are scannable, such as the instances found around the Rosetta Stone.

Raion progress, a significant breakthrough in your PDA's ability to simplify Protean life to familiar Earth analogs.
1. Colonial worm
Like other raions, the progress raion is a colony of worms occupying a shared membrane. The progress raion displays advanced specialization, with tough polyproteovinyl armor and specialized worms that protrude as hunters, sensors, and reproductive boasts.
2. Vermetidae breakthrough
Raions could be loosely compared to Earth's worm snails, the Vermetidae. These snails also construct colonies with their shells, though they do not share the tangled tubes.
3. Notes on training and PDA fitness functions
PDA behavior is trained by user feedback. PDAs are harshly penalized for generating difficult or incomprehensible databank entries. PDAs are therefore strongly incentivized to find Earth analogs to alien organisms, even when the match is distant. These analogies allows users to launder emotionally dangerous alien unknowns into a mere gap in encyclopedic knowledge.
4. Trimmed for length
Details of the evolution of limbs, antennae, and other organs in Earth's extinct lobopods have been judged nonessential for the pioneer mission.
Assessment: useful insight into the automated knowledge-making process.
