Ryley Robinson is a human explorer known for being the sole survivor of the Aurora crash on planet 4546B.

With nothing but a PDA and a heavily damaged lifepod, he was able not only to survive his predicament but also to escape it. With the help of an alien ally, the Sea Emperor Leviathan, he managed to cure both himself and planet 4546B of the Kharaa Bacterium almost entirely.

Post-Subnautica Events

After escaping 4546B and returning to Alterra headquarters, Ryley was prompted to pay off his accumulated debt and was denied the right to land until doing so. He was eventually permitted to land after either paying off his debt (highly unlikely) or making a deal with Alterra. He soon became an interstellar legend, becoming a household name in multiple human colonies.

He later wrote a book titled 4546B: Surviving the Impossible, published by Alterra. The book detailed the events that took place on 4546B and how he managed to escape.

At some point after returning to society, Ryley decided to return to frontier life. His whereabouts and status during the Kharaa war in the Ariadne Arm are unknown.

4546B would become informally known as "Ryley’s World" following the publicisation of his exploits.
