The Tar Eel is an unimplemented, aggressive lifeform that is expected to be added to the Scorpius region as part of the EA2 update. Currently, it can only be seen through the use of mods.
Appearance
The Tar Eel's skin seems to shift constantly, as if to mimic the appearance of tar. It has a long, slender central body, with four fin-like appendages which terminate in long talons, and a large, gaping mouth.
Behavior
The Tar Eel swims just beneath the surface of tar lakes, causing a noticeable ripple effect. Depending on the distance from the player, it will attack in two ways:
- Long Range: When the player is far away, the eel will spit tar at them.
- Close Range: When the player is close, it will rear up and bite them.
