The Bluemoon is a small, passive, edible lifeform. It provides +10 Food and +5 Water when consumed. The Digestion adaptation is required to safely consume alien lifeforms. A player without this adaptation will not receive its effect and be deducted health.

Appearance

The Bluemoon has a body shaped like a crescent moon. The back of the body has a pair of crescent-shaped fins and two long tails, each with a very small fin towards the end.

The body is blue on the dorsal side with a white and orange ventral side, a pair of dark blue stripes extend down from the eye, cutting through the orange patch.

The eyes are white with irregularly shaped pupils. A cornified beak that is flush with the body is situated in front.

Behavior

The Bluemoon is seemingly identical in behavior to the Halfmoon, it swims around passively, and can sometimes be seen hiding around patches of Sea Whips, and forming schools with Halfmoons and Harvestmoons. Occasionally Bluemoons can be seen gathering in groups around Waxmoons.

Bluemoons will flee from the Player and any Predators, while doing so they will swim horizontally, or swim swiftly left to right in an attempt to avoid the threat.
