Processor

The Alterra Bulk Processor is an interior base piece used for alternative and advanced crafting recipes. Each recipe takes a certain amount of time to complete before the desired item can be retrieved from the Processor output.

Creating the processor unlocks the ability to create Titanium Ingots.

Purpose

The Processor allows crafting of Processed Materials such as Ingots and Biofuel Blocks. Additionally, it presents alternative recipes to those of the Fabricator for certain items. Items for crafting are automatically drawn from the player's inventory and Lockers inside of Seabases.

To craft using the Processor:

1. Select a recipe from the tray.
2. Load the required materials into the input hopper.
3. Wait for the specified processing time.
4. Collect the product from the output tray.

A total of 15 ingredients can be inserted to queue up fabrications. When in use, a Processor requires 10 energy/s. Processors do not draw power while idle.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS Construct in habitat room compartment. Select a desired process (such as titanium ingots from titanium), then load the input hopper and wait for the processor run to complete. Collect output from output tray. CAUTION: the processor's power draw increases sharply during a run.

BACKGROUND The processor is a reverse fabricator, reducing complex inputs like salvage or biomass into simple raw materials. While standard fabricators can break down salvage, the processor is required to generate large pure outputs. The processor brings an arsenal of flash smelters, centrifuges, chemical washes, fractionators and magma electrolytic oxide cells to bear.

Refugee users may fondly recall political propaganda comparing Alterra to the sinister, controlling fabricator and the Mongolian Independent States to the robust, honest processor.
