Fragments
Fragments are collectible items found scattered across the ocean floor, inside wrecks, and within various structures in Subnautica 2. They represent damaged or incomplete pieces of technology.
Overview
When a player encounters a Fragment, they can use their Scanner to analyze it. Each scan contributes progress toward unlocking the corresponding Blueprint. Once enough fragments of a specific type have been scanned, the full Blueprint is added to the PDA, allowing the item to be crafted at a Fabricator or other crafting station.
Gameplay Mechanics
- Discovery: Fragments are often hidden in debris fields, near crash sites, or inside alien facilities.
- Scanning: Use the Scanner tool on a Fragment to gain progress. Some blueprints require only one fragment, while complex technologies may require multiple scans.
- Unlocking: Upon completing the scan requirements, the Blueprint is permanently unlocked.
