Fragment
Fragments are pieces of destroyed technology scattered throughout the ocean. They serve as the primary method for unlocking new Blueprints in Subnautica 2.
Overview
When players encounter a fragment, they can use their Scanner to analyze it. Successfully scanning a fragment adds the corresponding blueprint to the player's PDA, allowing them to craft the item or structure at a Fabricator or Habitat Builder.
Key Mechanics
- Scanning: Aim your scanner at a fragment and hold the scan button until the process completes.
- Durability: Fragments do not degrade over time and can be scanned by multiple players in multiplayer sessions.
- Locations: Fragments are typically found near wreckage sites, abandoned bases, or specific biomes relevant to the technology they represent.
