Overview

The Coffee Vending Machine is a Miscellaneous Item found in Wrecks. To obtain the blueprint, scan one of the Coffee Vending Machines with the Scanner.

The machine can be used to get Coffee Americano and has unlimited usage. It can produce up to two cups of Coffee Americano at a time, taking seventeen seconds to finish. When brewing is complete, the Coffee Americano appears in the player's Inventory if they are close enough.

Its primary use is cosmetic, as Coffee Americano is not the most efficient source of water. However, it is free and unlimited. Given its small size, wall-mounted design, and low build cost, it can serve as an emergency water source or for convenience when spending significant time in Seabases. Early in the game, when water is scarce, it can prevent dehydration if used frequently. A single machine provides +8 water every 17 seconds. Players can construct multiple machines to increase output. It also helps offset the dehydrating side effects of eating Snacks.

Trivia

The Coffee Vending Machine was originally only acquired from Wrecks and was placeable. This has been changed so that it is now buildable.
The original model was an imported asset from Natural Selection 2, another game created by Unknown Worlds Entertainment.
The machine appears to have settings for Small, Regular, and Double, but it is currently stuck on Small.
