Overview

Databoxes are scattered throughout the world of Subnautica 2. Finding and scanning these containers yields Recipe Data Cards, which are essential for unlocking new technologies, tools, and vehicle upgrades.

Note: This page redirects to Recipe Data Cards. The terms are often used interchangeably, as Databoxes are the physical source of the data cards.

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Location: Databoxes can be found in various biomes, often near wrecks, outposts, or hidden in caves.
  • Interaction: Players must approach a Databox and interact with it to retrieve the contained Recipe Data Card.
  • Reward: Each Databox contains a specific data card that unlocks a corresponding blueprint in the PDA.

Tips

  • Explore thoroughly; many Databoxes are hidden in hard-to-reach areas.
  • Use your scanner to highlight nearby interactive objects, which may help locate obscured Databoxes.
  • Keep track of which blueprints you have unlocked to prioritize searching for missing data cards.
