Magmarang

Overview

The Magmarang is a small, passive fauna species and a subspecies of the Boomerang. It is primarily found in the high-temperature environments of the Inactive Lava Zone.

Appearance

The Magmarang is identical to the Boomerang in structure, differing only in its coloration:

• Its four eyes have yellow sclera and are rimmed with dark orange rings.
• Its body is mostly dark red in color with silver-gray markings.
• The tips of its fins emit bright orange bioluminescent glows.

Behavior

Magmarangs swim aimlessly around their habitat. They will flee if approached by the player or any shark-classified fauna. Despite living in caves, they are curious and may swim towards small classified fauna. However, they become less active at night, making them easier to catch during nighttime hours.

Data Bank Entry

Magmarang

This organism is an adaptation of the common boomerang, evolved to survive in high temperature environments.

1. Coloration: Dark red coloration helps this subspecies to blend into igneous rock environments. Orange detailing resembles active lava flow, deterring more cautious predators.
2. Behavior: Marginally bolder than its shallow-dwelling cousins, the magmarang will nonetheless flee any creature larger than itself with impressive speed.

Assessment: Edible
