Salt Deposits are raw materials commonly found on the seabed. Salt is essential for crafting cured food and Disinfected Water from Bleach. This makes it very important in the Survival mode of Subnautica.

Salt Deposits look like small, white cube-shaped crystals. The most plentiful locations of salt can be found on the Mountain Island and in the Crash Zone, as well as in deeper biomes such as the Mushroom Forest, Grassy Plateaus, and the Bulb Zone. Salt Deposits can also be harvested from Purple Pinecones.

Salt Deposits can be found as large resource deposits. These large deposits yield 7-14 Salt when drilled.

Renewable Source

Salt Deposits are a collectable byproduct produced by the desalination process of the Water Filtration Machine, making it a renewable resource. It can be collected in a virtually infinite amount as long as the Water Filtration Machine is powered by renewable sources of energy, such as Solar Panels and Thermal Plants.
