The Vep Defender is an unimplemented Lifeform and a specific type of Vep. Currently, little is known about this creature other than it being the largest of the known Vep variants.
Appearance
The Vep Defender shares a similar body plan to the Vep Worker but is substantially larger and more heavily built. Key physical characteristics include:
- Forelimbs: Enormous chelate forelimbs with posterior portions extending backward around most of the creature's body.
- Head: Large and leaf-shaped with red, ovoid compound eyes.
- Limbs: Possesses four tail flaps and four legs, similar to the Vep Worker.
- Exoskeleton: Unlike the Worker, but like the Vep Sensor, the Defender has a pair of lateral openings in the exoskeleton behind the head.
- Coloration: The body is predominantly yellow with black stripes.
Defensive Posture
The Vep Defender's body structure allows it to retract its claws, legs, and head into a tight defensive posture, leaving little opening for potential attackers. This mechanism is comparable to that of box crabs.
