The Shallows is the first biome the player encounters when emerging from the Lifepod after the launch sequence, located in the Coral Gardens Region. As the name implies, the biome is shallow and features vibrant lifeforms and atmosphere. It is home to several small creatures such as the Halfmoon, and a variety of resources. The Shallows and its cave systems serve as the location where the player is introduced to the game and its mechanics.
