Cicada Wreck (EVA Prep)

EVA Prep is a Cicada compartment wreck that crash-landed on the southern edge of the Karakorum Ruins, just southwest of the Therapy Room and directly above the Karakorum Power Plant's upper control room. This wreck is named for the EVA suit locker room found within.

236,000 hours ago, [Iso](Rauli "Iso" Isotalo) was taken here by Axum Tailings following an ambush on him and three other Pioneers. Iso had the Bioscanner on him at the time, making this wreck the only known source of its blueprint.

Description

EVA Prep has two entrances: an open cargo door on its northern side, and a small door on the bottom of a collapsed corridor on the western side. No matter which entrance the player takes, a Repair Tool will be necessary to advance further.

Main Body

Entering from the cargo door, there is a small cargo bay filled with containers of varying sizes. While all the large containers are closed or empty, the small containers are all filled with Bloom Sap, which reveal a Water Slug once cleared with the Sonic Resonator or Feedback Resonator. A red emergency light illuminates a repairable door on the right side of the bay.

Repairing the door grants access to the rest of the wreck, starting with a small hallway with an oxygen tank. The EVA suit lockers are found in the room across the hall, with all but one locker having a suit inside. Also in this room are three Floor Lockers, the Keep Calm Poster, and the Vintage Wanted poster.

Further in, there is a common room with a seating area and a kitchenette. Turning left at the door, there is a large chest with Improved Fins inside. The kitchenette has scans for the Trashcan and New Life Poster, and the seating area has scans for the Dining Table and Modification Station, as well as Iso's Blackbox on the couch.

Collapsed Corridor

An open vent in the corner of the common area leads out into a cavernous space that gradually angles downwards. To the right is a hole in the hall leading to a small chamber containing the Recipe Data Card for the Photovoltaic Charger. Back in the main area, there is another oxygen tank on the ground, as well as a crate containing Enameled Glass.

A red light on the far end of the space illuminates the way forward, which turns out to be a hole in the floor of a hallway that has collapsed at a 90 degree angle. As a result, everything in this hallway has fallen to the bottom, including scans for the Biolab, Dining Table, Lab Chair, Trashcan, and, most importantly, the Bioscanner.

At the end of the hallway is the other entrance, which must be repaired if the player hasn't done so already.

Databank Entries

Cicada Wreck (EVA Prep)

A large fragment of an AISV Cicada compartment, including an EVA suit locker for spaceborne construction.

• The presence of a compartment from the Cicada itself (rather than a lander module) suggests the ship may have broken apart violently
• Corrosion and weathering make it difficult to determine the exact circumstances of the fragment's arrival
• Tool marks indicate partial salvage has been attempted, but the tools are not of Alterra manufacture
• Acoustics indicate fragments of useful tools are present
