Databank Entry
Name: Pearl Spawn - "Tragedy above and below"
Description:
Invoice. Empty container, with message.
Tragedy above and below. I flew over Xanadu. I saw casts of refugees fleeing the city by leg and tail. I saw thousands of people huddled on the roots of the World Tree like lice. Taken by rescue fever.
I returned home to find the farm crew making supply caches. If the power plant workers starve, Pearl Taster fears they will take our power and food.
Deep Bride is molting back to her deepwater morph. She offers it to me. In times like these, history says most Axum flee to deep water. No, that is wrong. History is written by those who survived in deep water.
In times like these, most Axum die.
