DescriptionConserves oxygen when diving deeper. Automatically adjusts gas pressure to help lungs inflate.

The Alterra Sumbisori Rebreather is a piece of equipment that can be worn in the Head slot to counteract the oxygen efficiency decrease when diving at depths below 100 meters.

Recipe

The blueprint for the Rebreather is unlocked by scanning one Rebreather fragment. It is crafted using the Fabricator.

Usage

When equipped in the Head slot, the Rebreather slows down Oxygen consumption to the regular rate of one unit per second while diving below 100m in depth.

Without the Rebreather equipped, the oxygen consumption rate increases significantly:

  • 100m - 200m: Three units per second.
  • Below 200m: Five units per second.

Additionally, rebreathers reduce the number of bubbles emitted by a diver, slightly reducing the chance of unwanted attention and pursuit from creatures.

Fragments

One fragment is required to unlock the blueprint. Fragments can be found at the following locations:

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Secure rebreather around mouth and nose. Connect air tank to rebreather. Dive below 100 meters.

BACKGROUND

In a standard open-circuit diving regulator, most of the oxygen in each breath is exhaled into the sea. Below 100m, where each breath requires more and more air, this waste becomes critical.

A closed-circuit rebreather allows the diver to take the same breath over and over: literally re-breathing. The rebreather's system-on-a-chip automatically scrubs carbon dioxide or adds fresh oxygen when necessary.

Rebreathers also reduce the number of bubbles emitted by a diver, slightly reducing the chance of unwanted attention and pursuit.
