| Description | Modified sound amplifier. Uses a bacterial feedback system to analyze and shatter hardened biomolecules. |
"This resonator modification continues a dangerous trend of adapting alien technology to Alterra devices." — PDA upon first creation
The Feedback Resonator is an upgraded version of the Sonic Resonator, enhanced with Axum technology via the Modification Station.
Appearance
The Feedback Resonator shares its general form with the base Sonic Resonator. However, the "head" of the weapon is replaced by a component made using Axum technology, which houses the bacterial feedback system.

Usage
The Feedback Resonator functions similarly to its base counterpart but features a ranged attack. It fires a small blast projectile in the aimed direction.
- Range: The projectile has an effective range of 25 meters, after which it dissipates in a small controlled explosion.
- Capabilities: It can destroy armored Bloom Cankers from a distance and stun certain creatures.
- HUD Indicators: When aiming at resource deposits or destructible Bloom organisms, the crosshair enlarges and turns green, accompanied by a HUD pop-up. This indicator does not appear when targeting creatures for stunning.
- Power: Requires a Battery to operate.
Recipe
The blueprint for the Feedback Resonator is acquired by scanning two fragments. It is crafted at the Modification Station.

Subject: Feedback Resonator
This modification to the sonic resonator replaces the original four-panel, solid-state phased array with a bioelectric feedback system based on Axum technology. It risks validating the beliefs of audiophiles who insist that analog sound has a special quality.
- Emitter array now hosts bacterial fibers, which form an analog nervous system
- Fibers detect sound and perform real-time feedback modification of the resonator's waveform
This has two notable effects for the end user:
- Resonator can now shatter materials formed by bacterial action, such as large mineral deposits
- Resonator now emits a vortex ring: a self-reinforcing fluid flow that can be fired like a cannonball
- Vortex ring has an effective range of 20+ meters
Axum technology exploits areas of material and acoustic science which have never been explored in transgov space. A responsible colonist would not use these modifications. A successful colonist must.
Assessment: the longer range of this modified resonator could defeat targets with close-range defensive reactions.
