Where to Find Titanium
Titanium is the most common resource in Subnautica 2, and you can encounter it in every part of the ocean. You'll have the best chances of finding Titanium in underwater caves, but it regularly appears on the sea floor as well.
In a pinch, small chunks of Titanium can almost always be found by combing the ocean floor and looking for little dark gray rocks. If you just need one or two pieces for a crafting recipe, that'll save you a swim back to base.
If you need more Titanium, swim into the crevices on the ocean floor to find cave networks with larger Titanium deposits that you can break into multiple chunks. You don't need a special tool for these, but you'll be able to harvest even larger Titanium nodes once you unlock the Sonic Resonator.
Where to Farm Titanium
There are two ways to stock up on Titanium easily in Subnautica 2. The first method is to visit a cave roughly 90 meters east of the Lifepod. It's right next to an Angel Comb that the game sends you to as a part of the main story. Just look for the "Anita - Black Box" signal and head in that direction.
Makeshift Map Markers
Subnautica 2 doesn't have an in-game map, so it can be hard to keep track of important locations. Thankfully, you can turn on the waypoints back on for any main story signals like Black Boxes at any time.
Just pause the game, navigate to Signals, and click every waypoint you'd like to activate.
Before you reach the Angel Comb, you'll stumble across some wreckage next to some glowing Mimic Pylons. Swim into the small cave opening to the right of the wreckage. There's a current that'll drag you down into the right cave system.
Its quite an expansive cave network, and it even has handy oxygen plants and air pockets so you don't have to resurface too often. There's also plenty of Copper in these caves as well!
Other than that, you can get a surprising amount of Titanium by collecting Metal Salvage as you swim around. You can find these giant hunks of metal near wreckage and abandoned outposts.
Take your Metal Salvage back to base and you can craft Titanium with it at a Fabricator. It's not much, but it really adds up!
Where to Find Fibrous Pulp
| Fibrous Pulp | How to Get It |
|---|---|
| 1. Craft a Survival Multitool 2. Break down flora |
Fibrous Pulp can be harvested from flora. To do this, you'll need to craft a Survival Multitool. This will allow you to break down the flora into Fibrous Pulp.
The Survival Multitool requires 3x Titanium to craft it. The good news is that you can get Titanium by dropping down into the cave underneath the Lifepod, at approximate coordinates -336962, 433171, -1491.
Flora to Harvest for Fibrous Pulp
With your Survival Multitool equipped, you can now dive and start looking for the flora listed below. We've included images, so you know what to look for, and tips for how to find them.
| Flora Name | Notes |
|---|---|
| Whip Gorgon |

Where to Find Copper
Copper can be found in underwater caves in Subnautica 2. You can find Titanium all over the ocean floor, but you'll need to do some spelunking to find Copper.
Thankfully, you don't need to go very deep to find Copper. There are shallow cave systems everywhere — even by the Lifepod. Copper deposits typically stick out of the ceiling, so keep your eyes turned upward.
You don't need any special tools to harvest Copper, so you can start farming as soon as you dive into Subnautica 2 for the first time.
Subnautica 2 Copper Farming Locations
There are two great farming spots for Copper in the early stages of Subnautica 2.
The first spot is directly underneath the Lifepod. There's a small circular hole in the seafloor that leads to a cave with an oxygen-spewing plant. There's some Copper on the walls down below.
About 50 meters east of the Lifepod, you can find an even larger cave with more Copper deposits. There's a natural current pushing water upward out of the cave's entrance, but you can swim around and enter through one of several crevices behind it.
Further beyond that cave, the the ocean floor drops off and the water gets much deeper. There, you can find significantly larger Copper deposits that you can mine later in the game once you've unlocked the Sonic Resonator.
At that stage, Copper will become much more common as the game sends you to deeper and darker waters to continue the main story.
Where to Find Acidic Raion Pouch
| Acidic Raion Pouch | How to Get It |
|---|---|
| 1. Craft a Survival Multitool 2. Dive down into caves 3. Break down bright pink masses with neon green centers |
Acidic Raion Pouches can be found on bright pink Acid Raion flora. These are typically found at the bottom of caves. They glow brightly, especially at night, and have a neon green center.
To collect the Acidic Raion Pouches, you'll need a Survival Multitool to break down the bright pink mass. The Survival Multitool requires 3x Titanium to craft it. The good news is that you can get Titanium by dropping down into the cave underneath the Lifepod, at approximate coordinates -336962, 433171, -1491.
This is also where you can find some Acidic Raion Pouch, all the way down the bottom of the cave, at around 35 meters. In the center of the Acidic Raion Pouch, you can also collect a Medical Gel Sac (this is the bright green part).
Where to Find Quartz
Quartz grows on Coral Domes in Subnautica 2. Coral Domes can be found everywhere in the shallow starting biome. Look for bright orange coral formations with blueish-green spots.
Quartz grows underneath Coral Domes, so swim into one and look upward to find some. Each Coral Dome has a varying amount of Quartz, but you'll always end up with at least a few pieces.
Sometimes, you can get lucky and spot some Quartz on the outside of Coral Domes as well.
Where to Farm Quartz
The best spot to farm Quartz in Subnautica 2 is right next to the Lifepod in the shallow starting region. There are Coral Domes everywhere in the shallows.
Coral formations remain common throughout Subnautica 2, so you'll never be that far away from a reliable Quartz deposit. They do respawn after some time, but if you need a lot of Quartz as quickly as possible, you'll have to swim further away from the Lifepod to find more Coral Domes.
Where to Find Silver
Silver can be found in caves near the Old Habitat, roughly 400 meters north of the Lifepod. It won't appear in the shallow parts of the ocean, so you won't find any in the caves near the Lifepod.
Silver appears in many of the same places as Titanium (and it looks really similar), so you may have mistakenly passed by some on your first ventures into the deep. It grows on the walls and ceilings of caves, and you can also find tiny little chunks on the floor sometimes.
Generally, Silver will spawn at depths of 30 meters or deeper. Keep that in mind when searching for some!
Where to Farm Silver
There are two awesome Silver farmings spots in Subnautica 2 that'll get you stocked up fast.
The first spot is a cave between the Lifepod and Old Habitat. To reach it, head directly north from the Lifepod and swim all the way past the first few Coral Domes toward the Old Habitat.
About 200 meters north of the Lifepod, there's a tiny cave that leads straight down into the sea floor. It's underneath an overhang with some purple Jelly Lei suspended over the entrance.
Down in the cave, you'll find Silver all over the walls. For a cave so close to the Lifepod, it has a surprising amount of Silver just sitting there.
The second farming spot for Silver is right next to the Old Habitat. You'll visit it for story reasons, but you can swim over there as soon as you're ready if you'd rather not wait.
To the right of the Old Habitat, there's a big cave entrance. Swim inside and follow the glowing green plants on the walls down deeper into the cave.
In the deepest parts of the cave where bright blue bulbs are sticking out of the ground, you can find little Silver deposits all over the walls and ceiling.
Silver is much harder to see than other metals since the nodes are so small. They only poke out of the walls a little bit, so don't swim too fast through the cave.
Where to Find Get Lead
Lead can primarily be found near the Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage) 400 meters northeast of the Lifepod. It's a damaged part of the ship that crash landed and stranded you on this aquatic alien planet.
400 meters is quite a swim when you're just starting out, and there are dangerous predators guarding the wreckage. Make sure you bring Distraction Flares and have some decent mobility equipment like Basic Fins and a Wakemaker.
When you arrive, look for a purple blocky stone. That's Lead. There are a few small pieces you can collect by hand along the seafloor, but you'll need to come back with a Sonic Resonator to break the bigger crystals.
Where to Farm Lead
The best place to farm Lead is the Cicada Wreck (Lander Garage). There's no need to look for a fancy cave or secret spot when there's already a ton out in the open!
Farming Lead gets significantly faster once you craft a Sonic Disruptor. After collecting your first few pieces, head back to base and craft one. It'll let you break the bigger ore nodes that you've been swimming by for the first few hours of the game.
Lead will continue to spawn as long as you stay in the deeper waters far away enough from the Lifepod. 400 meters seems to be the cutoff point, so if you need more Lead, you'll have to swim further away from your initial spawn point.
Where to Find Lucifer Rotsac
Lucifer Rotsacs are glowing orange orbs found in the middle of Cradle Shootroot plants on the ocean floor. The Cradle Shootroot plants are bright blue with orange tips, so they're easy to spot from a distance. They can be found all over the seabed, even by the Lifepod!
Once you find a Cradle Shootroot plant, just swim up to it and collect the Lucifer Rotsac from the middle. You can also harvest the plants themselves with your Survival Multitool to get Fibrous Pulp, another important crafting material.
Where to Farm Lucifer Rotsac
The best place to farm Lucifer Rotsacs in Subnautica 2 is right next to the Lifepod. The shallow Coral Gardens are filled with Cradle Shootroot plants that you can access without having to risk a trip to the deeper parts of the ocean.
Plus, the shallow water makes it much easier to spot Cradle Shootroots and Lucifer Rotsacs while swimming around. Keep an eye out for them while you're hunting for other resources.
If you visit the Welcome Center, you can use the Biolab to give yourself the Sea Skimmer Biomod, which increases your swimming speed along the ocean floor. Perfect for Lucifer Rotsac hunting!
Where to Find Salt
Salt can be found near the volcanic area 300 meters east of the Lifepod. You'll need the Heat Tolerance Adaptation in order to survive the warmer waters, but you can find some Salt deposits on the border of the volcanic area where it's not too hot.
Salt tends to show up on the ocean floor and not in caves where you'd find metals like Copper, Titanium, and Silver. Keep low to the ground and you're bound to find some. It's a blocky, white mineral that doesn't look like anything else you've collected so far.
You can also find some small Salt deposits in the caves near Chap's Blackbox, which NOA will send you to investigate in the first few hours of the game.
Where to Farm Salt
The best spot to farm Salt in Subnautica 2 is at the edge of the volcanic region 300 meters east of the Lifepod. There, you'll find a bunch of large Salt deposits that you can harvest with the Sonic Resonator.
The farming route starts at the research outpost near Chap's Blackbox and the giant walking Coral Crabs. There, you'll find a trio of large Salt deposits near the Coral Domes to the north.
From there, just keep swimming northeast along the seafloor to find even more Salt deposits. Just follow the Coral Domes. Salt tends to spawn on the sand next to them.
Where to Find Sulfur
Sulfur can be found in the volcanic region of the ocean 300 meters east of the Lifepod. You'll need the Heat Tolerance Adaptation to survive the warmer waters long enough to harvest it.
Sulfur tends to grow near volcanic vents, so use the temperature meter as a way to gauge how close you are. You can find small chunks of Sulfur on the rocky formations surrounding the volcanic vents, and large Sulfur deposits can also be harvested with a Sonic Resonator.
It's a bright yellow mineral that's easy to spot from a distance, but don't get it confused with Gold! Both resources spawn in the volcanic area right next to each other.
Where to Farm Sulfur
The best spot to farm Sulfur is right at the edge of the volcanic region 300 meters east of the Lifepod. You'll need a Sonic Resonator to get the most out of this farming spot.
There's a research station at the border of the volcanic area near the entrance to the cave system with Chap's Blackbox, which you'll visit as a part of the main story early in Subnautica 2. The stone pillars behind this outpost have a bunch of Sulfur deposits on them.
You can find a ton of Sulfur deposits there without having to spend too much time in hot water, and once you have the Heat Tolerance Adaptation, you can swim even further east to discover way more Sulfur.
Where to Find Necrolei Cysts
Necrolei Cysts can be found atop Stilt Orbs, green alien plants that are propped up by bright pink tentacles.
You'll find Stilt Orbs amidst patches of bright pink and green coral 400 meters northwest of the Lifepod.
You'll see your first patch of coral with Stilt Orbs near the Old Habitat, which you'll visit early in Subnautica 2's main story to collect a Blackbox for NOA. Once you reach the area, you can harvest Necrolei Cysts with your Survival Multitool.
Where to Farm Necrolei Cysts
The best place to farm Necrolei Cysts is right next to the Old Habitat. There's a huge field of coral teeming with Stilt Orbs and Necrolei Cysts. Once you make it to the Old Habitat, you can find the Necrolei Cysts a few meters to the west on a plateau overlooking the facility.
The Stilt Orbs grow at the base of the funky-looking coral, and you can get a ton of Necrolei Cysts in just a single visit. The best spot to find Necrolei Cysts in that coral forest is the far western edge, just before the deep dropoff. There, you can find a few patches of Stilt Orbs.
Strong Acid is a crucial item in Subnautica 2, so be sure to visit this area often to stock up on Necrolei Cysts!
Where to Find Conduit Crystals
Conduit Crystals can only be found in the alien biome across the chasm to the east of the Coral Garden. The chasm is hundreds of meters east of the Lifepod, way past the warm volcanic region where you can find Sulfur and Gold.
You'll need a Tadpole (ideally with some Chassis upgrades) to survive the Collector Leviathan that guards the massive trench. It's a few hundred meters wide, and there's no cover to hide from the massive monster. Trying to swim across unaided is a death sentence.
On the other side of the chasm, you'll find some strange Alien Ruins. Conduit Crystals will appear near the Alien Ruins starting at depths of 300 meters.
You can find Conduit Crystals growing on the edges of the circular alien platforms throughout this biome, and it also grows on ledges and cliffs as you get deeper.
After 400 meters deep, you'll start to see it growing on the seafloor.
Conduit Crystal Farming Spots
The best Conduit Crystal farming route is near the Axum Vision Angel Comb, which is east of the Alien Ruins. Start by following the roots east from the Alien Ruins to reach the Angel Comb.
There, you'll spot an alien structure built into the cliff to the southeast. There are a few Conduit Crystals growing on the ledges sticking out of the cliff face.
After harvesting those with a Sonic Resonator, follow the purple roots northeast from the Angel Comb through the dark trench.
When the trench starts to widen on the other side, the roots will split off to the right. Turn right and keep following them.
You'll end up near a patch of Conduit Crystals glowing on the seabed.
Since each Conduit Crystal gets you two pieces, you'll end up with roughly a dozen Conduit Crystals from this route. They respawn fairly often, so you can run this route repeatedly to stock up.
Where to Find Lithium
Lithium can be found in the volcanic caves 400 meters east of the Lifepod. In order to survive the warm waters, you need the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.
Lithium is a blocky mineral that has a purple base and yellow tips. You'll need a Sonic Resonator to harvest it.
You'll know you're in the right spot once you start to see a reddish orange tint in the water and see a temperature gauge pop up in the middle of your screen. The volcanic vents are also home to resources like Sulfur and Gold, but those are on the surface. Lithium is underground.
Best Lithium Farming Spot
The absolute best Lithium farming spot in Subnautica 2 is underneath the Cicada Wreck (Empty Hold), which is right in the middle of the volcanic vents region east of the Lifepod.
The wreckage is huge, so it's hard to miss. The hold is tangled up in the rocky structures growing out of the seafloor.
The crevices underneath the wreckage all lead to a cave with over a dozen Lithium deposits growing on the walls. This is hands-down the best place to gather Lithium in the entire game.
Be sure to check back often once the Lithium respawns!
Early Game Lithium Farming Spot
If you need Lithium early in Subnautica 2, there's one location you can check that doesn't require the Heat Tolerance Adaptation.
If you go 300 meters south of the Lifepod, you'll find the Cicada Wreck (Canteen) at a depth of 90 meters.
Just past that is a giant alien clam called the Great Jaw.
Inside the Great Jaw, there's a small circular structure covered in bright pink strings. There's are a dozen Lithium deposits inside that structure, but touching any of the threads will cause the Great Jaw to close and trap you inside.
If you touch one of the threads, swim outside of the clam's grasp as quickly as you can. Otherwise, it'll end up killing you with poison.
Where to Find Celestine
Celestine only appears in the eastern part of the ocean near the Alien Ruins, which can be found roughly 1,300 meters east of the Lifepod. To reach this region, you'll have to cross a wide-open chasm guarded by the Collector Leviathan.
Once you reach the Alien Ruins with the help of a Tadpole, proceed northeast and drop down off the shelf into the deeper parts of the ocean. You'll start to see Celestine below 250 meters.
Celestine is a blue mineral comprised of several small, jagged crystals. It grows on walls and in caves, and you'll need a Sonic Resonator to harvest it.
Celestine Farming Spot #1
There are two great spots to farm Celestine in Subnautica 2. The absolute best Celestine farming spot is just northeast of the Alien Ruins.
From the Alien Ruins, head northeast and you'll see a huge dropoff leading down into the ocean depths. Drop down and hug the wall until you reach a depth of 270 meters.
At 270 meters below the surface, you'll find some Celestine deposits on the cliffside. There are three near a ledge with some Silver.
From there, look south a few meters to find two more Celestine deposits growing underneath the shelf.
Next, follow the wall to west until you reach a cave. There are two more Celestine deposits at the cave's entrance, plus even more inside.
All in all, this route brings you to 10 Celestine deposits.
Celestine Farming Spot #2
If you're in need of more Celestine, you can find some more northeast of the Angel Comb in this region that gives you the Axum Vision Adaptation.
The Angel Comb is east of the Alien Ruins. Once you reach it, follow the purple roots on the seafloor through the trench to the northeast.
As the trench widens on the other side, you'll swim past some Conduit Crystals to the southeast where the purple roots make a right turn.
Look east past those to find a bunch of Celestine deposits on the stone spires jetting out of the ground near the purple roots.
This spot has half a dozen Celestine deposits for you to harvest.
Where to Find Troilite
Troilite can be found near the Metal Farms near the Alien Ruins. It's a bright green cystal that appears next to the glowing pools of liquid there. The resource nodes are called "Mineralized Clinkers," but harvesting them with a Sonic Resonator will get you Troilite.
To reach the Metal Farms, head to the Alien Ruins and then proceed east toward the Angel Comb that unlocks the Axum Vision Adaptation. It's much deeper than the Alien Ruins.
From the Angel Comb, follow its roots northeast through the trench. This will lead you past some great farming spots for Celestine and Sulfur, among other things.
The trench will lead you to the bright green liquid pools at the Metal Farms.
You can find Troilite growing on the sea floor right next to those glowing lakes! It only appears in very limited quantities, though.
Best Troilite Farming Spot
Since there's not a lot of naturally occurring Troilite in Subnautica 2, you can harvest most of the Troilite spawns in a single farming route.
To start, head to the glowing ponds at the Metal Farms northeast of the Axum Vision Angel Comb.
You'll find three Troilite nodes on the seafloor on the western side of the first lake, right by an audio log from Zip.
Up above those Troilite deposits, there's another glowing lake. There are four more Troilite deposits to harvest up there.
That makes seven Troilite deposits in total. To get any more, you'll either have to wait for these to respawn or generate your own with a Metal Farm.
Axum Bacterial Culture Locations
There are only five total Axum Bacterial Cultures currently in Subnautica 2's Early Access period.
You can find Axum Bacterial Cultures in the glowing pools at the Metal Farms near the Alien Ruins in the game's second biome. If you haven't already been over there, you'll have to cross the massive chasm to the east of the Lifepod with a Tadpole and hope the Collector Leviathan doesn't attack you.
From the Alien Ruins, proceed east toward the Angel Comb that rewards the Axum Vision Adaptation. The Angel Comb is much deeper than the Alien Ruins, so make sure you have the Tadpole's Depth Module installed.
Once you reach the Angel Comb, follow its roots northeast through a trench. Keep following the root all the way to the glowing pools.
The Metal Farms are teeming with Troilite and other resources, but Axum Bacterial Cultures are harvested from the pools themselves. Thankfully, they don't require any special tools.
You can find three Axum Bacterial Cultures in the biggest pool in the center of the Metal Farm area.
There are two more in the smaller pools on the nearby cliff.
These are the only Axum Bacterial Cultures you can collect in Subnautica 2, so don't lose them! You can craft a total of five Metal Farms using these.
